FOR READING
* When I was a boy, in Spain in 1931, lived in Aranjuez a National Teacher called D. Justo G. Lezamit Escudero. On the verge of retirement, went to school even on Saturday morning but had no classes because there, in a little office that had been given, tending his circulating library. It was his because he had created his own, with books donated by friends, institutions and parents. Its 'Clients' were young and old, men and women. I discovered Dickens and Baroja, I read Salgari and Karl May. Many years later I visited a small library of a town in Madrid. It seemed to have been very busy, but it was taken over by a young woman called who had devised to create an exclusive hideaway for children with a piece of carpet to seat them. At first the mothers embraced the idea with sympathy because they served as a nursery. After picking up their children in school left them there for a while as they finished shopping, but when they returned to was not uncommon for children, intrigued by the end, asked to stay a little longer to finish the story they were reading. During the wait, pry mothers, they took a book, she leafed through and sometimes they were pledged. Later I learned that the experience had borne fruit: some readers were women who had never read before a simple carpet in the hands of a young librarian will discover other worlds. Even more years later discovered another prodigy in a major hospital in Valencia. The library of patient care, mitigating the long waits and worries of both families as the sufferers themselves, was created by initiative and volunteerism of an employee. With a shopping cart loaded of donated books, walking in the different plants, with long journeys and struggles with the administration trying to convince bureaucrats and doctors do not always open to other considerations, that the knowledge and pleasure that reading can provide help to cure, after the years has been to equip the hospital and library users with a loan facility and activities that have earned him, besides the prestige and admiration of all who have been there, a booksellers' guild award in recognition of his work for the book. I recall now these three among the many examples of determination librarian to learn that the threat resurfaces loan payment. It is intended to force libraries to pay 20 cents for each book borrowed in monthly fees to compensate, they say that the authors of the wear of the loan. I'm confused and not understand anything. In ordinary life that pays a sum is because:
a) gets something in return.
b) is subject to a penalty.
And I wonder: What does a public library, after payment of the purchase of the book to lend? Or is to be fined for doing his duty, which is precisely that, providing the books and encourage reading? On the other hand, what they wear to the authors in the operation?. Does allowed to charge for the book?. Do they read less because it is readings borrowed?. You sell less or advertising will serve as the loan when a factory gives away samples of their products? But above all: Do we want to encourage reading? "Europe prefers authors richer but less read? Europe do not understand this commercial. Personally I prefer to read and I who feels indebted to the work library in the dissemination of my work. Whether they know who, without asking, try to defend my interests charging copyright libraries. I have signed against the measure on several occasions and again I join the campaign. DO NOT PAY THE LOAN IN LIBRARIES! *

While normal people does not even make ends meet, earning the millionaires at our expense . Do not allow this attack on the culture and pass this message to all your friends. FOR THE PLEASURE OF READING: SGAE (General Society of English Authors) attacks again. Written and signed by José Luis Sampedro, a writer. FOR READING * When I was a kid, in Spain in 1931, lived in Aranjuez called a National Master Don Justo G. Escudero Lezamit. Now nearing retirement, he went to school on Saturday morning class because even though he had there, in a small office that had given way, had his circulating library. It was because he had created his own, with books donated by friends, institutions and parents of pupils. His "customers" were (we were) and young adults, men and women. There he discovered Dickens, Baroja, and Salgari read Karl May. Many years later I visited a village of a bibliotecuccia madrilegno. Did not seem to be very popular, but the young graduate who ran a corner designed exclusively for children with a piece of Moqui so you could sit. At first the mothers accepted the idea with sympathy because they needed to asylum. When the children came from school mothers took them there and ended up making their purchases, but when they returned to take, it was not strange that the children, excited by the end of the book, asking to stay to finish the story. While waiting mothers inquiring, taking a book, I skimmed through it and sometimes they were caught. Some time later I discovered that the experience had borne fruit: some readers were women who had never read anything before a simple Moqui in the hands of a young librarian, discovered their other worlds. And several years later I discovered another wonder in a hospital in Valencia. The Library of attention to the patient, used to mitigate the long and agonizing wait for sick family members and was created with the initiative and the willingness of an employee. With a supermarket trolley full of donated books, walking the floors with long wanderings and struggles with the administration to try to convince bureaucrats and doctors do not always open to considering different from their own, that the knowledge and pleasure from reading proportionate may contribute to the care, after years and years had failed to equip the hospital and their users with a library loan service and activities which have served not only to gain prestige and admiration of all who have gone beyond but also a award from the corporation of the book in recognition of his work on books. Remember these three examples among many of tenacity library now that I remember a story that threatens the return of the loan payment. He wants to force libraries to pay 20 cents for each book provided as compensation for fees, so say the authors for the wear caused by the loan. I'm confused, I do not understand anything. In the life of today who pays it is because:
a) get something in return.
b) is subject to a penalty.
And I wonder: what does he get a public library, having already paid for the purchase of the loan book? Or should it perhaps be fined because it fulfills its mission, which is precisely what to provide books and encourage reading? And on the other hand, quel'è wear that authors suffer while reading? Perhaps do not earn from the sale of the book? We read not because the books are provided? Sell \u200b\u200bless or it may be a commercial loan, como when a company offers small samples of their product? But, above all, we want to encourage reading? The authors prefer Europe richer and less beds? I do not understand this business in Europe. Personally I prefer to read and I feel I am indebted to the libraries that spread my works. Understand that you, without asking me, pretend to defend my interests in destroying the copyright libraries. I signed against this measure on several occasions and again I join in this campaign. NO BOND TO PAY IN LIBRARIES! * José Luis Sampedro

FACEBOOK

About a year and a half ago I did not know what was "Facebook" ... I remember a friend told me that we had enrolled to exchange photos with his other friends ... I paid not much attention and continued to live in my ignorance. But then about 7 months ago another friend of mine told me that if I wanted some pictures that I had asked I would have been able to download from his facebook ... at that time facebook came into my life!
I think it is a tool curious and useful at the same time. It is useful because you can get in touch with people who have not seen for a long time, but then when you start to have much contact you take a step back since the end you can not read the update of all. However it is interesting because it shows how much there is necessity of standardization in the human ... those who use it (including me) will not give me wrong if they think the groups which will be entered, they did test the absurd, and pages in which fans will be made ... is a way to showcase and claim our way of being, or at least the way we want to be seen. As for me I have to say that Facebook, like it or no, monopolizza quasi che il tempo libero little passo su internet ... and keeping the little assiduitá di questo blog ne ho prova!

year and a half ago or so did not know what was "Facebook", I remember a friend told me that had registered to exchange photos with other friends of hers ... I did not pay much attention and went on living in my ignorance. But then, about 7 months, another friend of mine told me that if I wanted some pictures that you could have requested the download her facebook ... was when "the facebook" came into my life.
think it's a curious and useful tool at the same time. It is useful because you can return to have a relationship with people who do not see for a long time, but then when you start to have many contacts back because they do not manage to come up with all of them. But it is also interesting because it demonstrates the need for mass of human beings ... those who use it (myself included) will have to recognize if you think about the groups to which they are registered in the absurdities test they have done and the pages that have become fans ... is a way to put on a showcase for teaching our way of being, or at least the way we like to see us. Talking about me I have to admit that facebook, I like it or not, almost monopolizes the little free time I spend in internet ... and seeing what I write on the blog I have a proof!
I'll get a book and read ...
